Grundig cassette tape recorder with microphone and two cassette tapes. This cassette tape recorder was used by Catherine Cookson. Catherine wrote her first 16 books in longhand but she soon developed writer's cramp. She recorded the rest of her stories on tape. In the last years of her life, this Dictaphone sat by her bedside. One of the tapes is inscribed with 'Oddments of Thought'.
