The Museum of Hartlepool

The Museum of Hartlepool has been rated as one of the top ten free attractions opened since 1994. The museum is part of the North East's premier maritime attraction - Hartlepool's Maritime Experience. Located at Jackson's Dock in Hartlepool marina, the museum displays tell the story of Hartlepool from pre-history through Roman, Saxon and Medieval times up to the present day and feature a wide variety of items from the town's collections.

The museums' largest item - the paddle steamer Wingfield Castle is moored alongside the museum. Built in the Hartlepool's William Gray shipyard it now houses the museum café.
