"Culture Shock! has been an extraordinary experiment that has produced both excellent results and a fundamental insight into the future of museum practice."
The effects on TWAM and the project partners involved in creating, shaping and delivering Culture Shock! were both significant and diverse. Culture Shock! has tested how museums will handle a digital future, it has also begun to challenge elements of the identity of museums (based on defining themselves through their collections), which is a significant point for future debate.
This work will continue at TWAM through the legacy project during 2011/12 which will look to;
1. continue to embed the Culture Shock! stories, processes and lessons learned through the project at TWAM.
2. support the delivery by different departments at TWAM of digital storytelling projects.
3. develop the commercial opportunities of digital storytelling through consultancy, training and commissioning.
The other museum partners are also committed to continue the work of Culture Shock! and digital storytelling within their own venues and the communities in which they serve.
