What does this represent to you?

Do you see it as a piece of audio equipment or do you see it as noise?

To me it is one of many tools of the trade as it were. You see, I’m a professional singer. I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember and I think I started when I was about 6 years old. I’ve been involved with many productions such as Grease and Guys and Dolls.

My biggest breakthrough to date is the band. We have been together for 9 years and I love it. We do a wide variety of music from the sixties, seventies and eighties right the way through to the noughties. To me the best part of the job is performing to loads of different crowds, people of all ages and I get such a buzz. I just enjoy the adrenaline rush when people seem to enjoy themselves. Over the years we have performed all over the North East including pubs and clubs, small and big venues and its just so much fun and we have a right laugh. Different Beat, that’s the name of the group, consists of myself, AJ, JD and dad and we are all like a big family. We have laughed, cried and even argued but we always bounce back. For me it’s the best job in the world and I wouldn’t change it for anything or anyone. It has helped me through some difficult times as it makes me feel free from this trying and difficult life. Singing for me is an expression of mood and emotions and it’s the best remedy for when I’m feeling down. Different Beat is an amazing job and it has helped me realise part of my ambition of being a performer.
