Video transcript

In August 2000 we got the dog from the kennels, we named her Tara. She was 6 months old and my son Kieron was 18 months old. They followed each other all over and even got into trouble together, one time they were playing in the back garden, I thought they were quiet so I went to check on them. The full roll of toilet paper was all over the garden and Kieron blamed Tara for it!

In September 2003 we had our daughter Abbie, Tara was more scared of her than the other way around because one time when I winding Abbie she was sick all over Tara so every time I picked Abbie up the dog would run into the other room.

Tara’s favourite toy is her teddy bear which she uses as a pillow. In April 2008 we got a rabbit for Abbie. Abbie loves it, after watching Alvin and the Chipmunks we named it Alvin, but we later found out it was actually a girl, not a boy but we couldn’t think of another name for her so she is a girl rabbit with a boys name.

Abbie pushes Alvin around in her doll’s buggy and she just sits there and doesn’t jump out. We were worried about how Tara was going to react to Alvin, but it turns out we had nothing to worry about, as they are like best friends lying in front of the fire together.

In October 2009 we got Keiron a gecko for his eleventh birthday. He named it Ruby, but she turned out to be a boy! The only problem I’ve got with Ruby is feeding him, as he eats live crickets!

This is the story of my family life with all our animals. Who knows which ones we’ll get next?
