Video transcript

My story is full of the love for my hometown Beijing. It seems like my own travel guide for you. If you just have one day in Beijing. Follow me, I will show you what is a real Beijing from a younger Beijinger. I was born and grow up in Hutong. Hutong is a traditional courtyard in Beijing. It contains too much my own childhood memory. So taking my own camera on a sunny day, walking around to the Hutong in Houhai is my favourite thing. Maybe my camera is not professional, my recording skill is poor, but I enjoy the recording experience. Every day, every minute, it shows different little stories about the normal Beijingers. I feel myself like a producer, recording their story while recalling my own past memory. I still remember when I was a little girl, playing with my friends in the Hutong. Your neighbor is like your family, all the people living in the same courtyard chatting together at a cool summer night. All these things make me feel so sweet. Recent years, Beijing is changing so fast. Some traditional lifestyle and architecture need to sacrifice for this development. I want to use my camera to record the last memory of Old Beijing. I like the modern life, I like the changes of my hometown. But sometimes, the demolition of my past memory makes me feel sad. From the daytime of Beijing you can feel its old and traditional history. One night in Beijing will make you feel the modern life of it. Go to the bars of Houhai with your friends, take a beer. It’s the best place for you to have a rest. I like to call my hometown Beijing, not the name of capital of China!
