Video transcript

It was a normal day in June 2008 when I came home from school. My mam had some fantastic news for me - my parents had bought a caravan!  I was really excited and jumped out of my seat!

The caravan is just off the beach in a small fishing village in Northumberland called Seahouses, just next to Bamburgh and Beadnell.

The first time we went to stay at the caravan we had a lot of fun. We spent most of our time on the beach, exploring rock pools, digging giant holes and building dams across small streams.

Sleeping in the caravan is surprisingly more comfortable than home it feels like sleeping on a water bed. Everybody in my family agrees with me.   Coming home we all felt a little sad leaving not knowing when we were coming back but we knew for sure that we would be back.

That summer I had felt a little sad that we would not be going abroad to somewhere like Spain or Turkey, like we usually did. Although really, the caravan is just as good. This year we will be going to Porte Ventura in Spain AND to the caravan, I’m really looking forward to it.
