Video transcript

Imagine being woken up by the trumpet of elephants. It was the second day of my African safari, sat in the round room of the lodge, waking up for our morning drive.

The day before was like a dream, we arrived in the blistering heat on a dust track road. Passed a herd of elephants, giraffes, lions and buffalo.  Our lodge was like a tree house, round buildings on stilts connected by rope bridges. The watering hole surrounded the lodge inviting the animals to come within an arms reach as well as an underground tunnel to get right underneath and be a part of the herd washing, p- laying and drinking. We set out rushing to the sighting of a mother cheetah with three cubs. The rest of the day spent watching gazelles jumping and monkeys climbing as well as sitting around the fire. Before sitting on the top story of the lodge watching the clear dark sky and the elephants coming and going. As well with the knowledge that the lions would be prowling.
