Video transcript

We went to the bowes museum, my toddler and i, the first thing in the faith and love exhibition was a wooden Noah's arc displayed at child height with space to sit and look at all the tiny carved animals. The we moved on to colouring and again to pair up the animals, we looked at baby jesus in the pictures and the objects and moses in his basket. It made me remember museum visits as a child in London, my sister and i wandered for hours it seemed over shiny black floors, heads full of the wonders glimpsed in tall cabinets. Foot sore, from room to room we went, until suddenly one of us saw a chair, a bench, a sofa and then it was a race to see who could get there first and wait until parents finished their viewing and made us move on. The exhibition also brought back memories of sitting in the front pew at church, dressed in sunday best, next to hatted upright grandparents. When it was time for the sermon, two small lead pencils, a few inches long and two small squares of paper would appear for my sister and i to amuse ourselves quietly while the others listened.
