Video transcript

War is when people fight.

War is when bombs blow up.

What is war to you?

Is it when you fight with your mam, dad, or even your brother and sister?

Is it when you fall out with your friends?

When I was little I used to play in my garden. It wasn’t a big garden as such but maybe that was because of the big greenhouse, or even the garage. And the big brown wooden fort I was in. With some small plastic toys I used to play in the garden. One time it was raining and I was playing in the mud with my toy soldiers. The mud was boggy because of the rain and my toys got stuck in the mud and I lost them. I cried and cried for hours because I had lost my toys. And I tried and tried for ages to find them but just couldn’t. The only thing I got was a pile of mud on my clothes. When I gave up I went back into my house. My mam went mental with me for getting my clothes so muddy and the floor so muddy. And then I went to war. I struggled for hours to win my war but then I realised mams always win their wars.

I liked 'Muddy War' because it tells you about different types of war and asks a rhetorical question. Posted on 01/12/2009 at 10:51:39
