Video transcript

The first thing that came to mind while I was walking around the museum was my Grandad. I saw a picture of a group of miners it reminded me of a picture I had of him, when he was a miner. He worked at Dawdon pit. He worked at the Pit for about 20 years. Before working at the pit my grandad worked as a RAF engineer, fixing all the damaged  planes. After working there for about 4 years my grandad married my Nana and at the age of 31 he became a dad for the first time. This new baby was my mam. Over the years my grandad’s family began to grow and grow my Mam Tina, My Uncle James and my Auntie Joy.

31 years after that I was born. My grandad now has 5 granchildren me , my big brother Alex, my little brother Ben, and my cousins, Emily and Jessica.

In the picture of grandad and his mate Kenny, he's just come up from the pit. He's all dirty but he seems happy with Kenny. I wouldn’t like to do his old job.

In the picture of my grandad and his mates from the RAF, It is my grandad’s car they are leaning on. He's easily reconised because he's the only one without a jacket on.

In the picture of my grandad with his mates from the RAF he looks very smart and  looks happy and jolly. You can recognise him because he's the only one with glasses.

Grandad used to take me on long walks with Heidi the dog when I was little, and I used to draw lots of pictures at his house. Me and my grandad have lots of fun together.
