My Mam and Dad by Marjorie Morris

My mam and dad had eight children, my father worked at the shipyards as a crane driver. He made lots of toys in his spare time and did lots of DIY. Mam was a housewife and did a part time job in a drapers. Every fortnight mam used to entertain my aunties and uncles, every Wednesday they stayed for dinner and tea. My aunt made my mam’s wedding cake, 25th anniversary cake, 30th anniversary cake and 50th anniversary cake.

Well now it’s been several years since I lost my mam and dad. A couple of photos show mam and dad. I remember them now by placing a few flowers now and again on the grave in the cemetery near me. I love my mam and dad and miss them so much.
