Video transcript

My story is all about how a simple thing can be very precious and help us to remember the good times we have had. There was one very important time when I remember being on holiday with my whole family, having a really good time. We were on the island of Fuerteventura when a volcano erupted. We were on the island with the volcano behind us when it started to erupt. We could see smoke coming out of the top and smell the sulphur in the air.   It started throwing stones out into the air and they were landing all around us on the beach and on the road. It was a terrifying moment but I knew that I had my family there to help me if anything had happened. We had to leave the beach quickly and flee to safety to a building nearby. When we went back there was a big shining rock on the beach, fresh out of the volcano. You could see where it had landed as the sand had started to smoulder together. When the volcano was erupting it made me remember all the good times which I had with my family and how good it had been.

When I went to retrieve the stone it was still reddish as it had just came out the volcano so I had to go to the sea and pick up some water in a bucket and pour the water on it so that it would cool down and so that I can pick it up. After it had cooled down it had a peculiar glow to it, I looked closer and saw the complexion of the different coloured layers of precious looking stones. I was amazed how such a small thing could look so nice. That stone made me remember all of the good times me and my family had. That stone was useless but it was precious to me.
