Video transcript

What is the connection between the Beatles and period dramas, McFly and wildlife documentaries, or Elvis Presley and Bach?

And what do any of these things have to do with “Ballykissangel” or “Heartbeat”? Or with collecting stones or writing stories? Or gardening? Or walking?

They are all things which I enjoy.

My cat Abby wakes me up in the morning and I have breakfast. I start work at 8 o’clock. I walk about 30 dogs in one morning and love all the dogs and cats I look after at the kennels.

I’m a kennel maid.

Sometimes I have to clean out the kennels and give the animals their dinner, but mostly I walk the dogs for the boss.

I finish at 12 o’clock, then go home to have my dinner. At 2 o’clock I go along the road to walk Jasper the fox terrier. Actually, it’s him that pulls me along to pick up Jess the mongrel! I walk Jasper and Jess together; they are from different families, Jasper loves Jess but Jess just puts up with Jasper.

After all this walking I will have to have a rest before going down to youth club in Haydon Bridge.

I hate bad things - speeding through the village, fighting for no reason, swearing, and people not understanding people with special needs.

But I love meeting new people, my writing, my family, Northumberland and the colour red.

In 100 years time I would like people to remember me for saving the landscape around my village, for my films and stories, being a good person, my family name and the love of my family.
