Video transcript

My name is Antonina Kulmasova and I'm from Russia. I'm 11. I have a mum, dad, sister Evdokia (she is 13) and a little brother Ivan who is only 4 years old. At home I have 1 cat and 4 kittens and a dog.

One day I was at the Art Gallery with my family, quietly looking at the massive amounts of old paintings. All of them were Victorian and that’s why they were really boring. I couldn't wait till the end of this day.

Suddenly, I heard giggling and whispering from the corner of the room. I looked over, but there was no one there. Immediately, it stopped. Without noticing that my family already left the room, I crept closer. There was a picture, all on its own. It had two girls in white dresses, standing in front of each other. The girl at the back was hugging the girl at the front. The background was black.   When I looked closer, the girl in the front, who had red short hair, had a necklace made out of shells. I stared, and stared. That reminded me of myself, because I have a lot of jewellery made out of shells. I made them myself. I love the seas, oceans, dolphins, shells...

Again I looked at the picture. I didn't only hear the giggling, I SAW the little girl in the picture giggling! She was alive,.. or was she? I was like: "What?.. Where?.. How?.. Do you... Talk... Alive?!..." I was so confused, I couldn't remember what was going on... I was shocked. I rubbed my eyes and opened them. The girls were smiling at me and gave me a friendly look. They froze. With no reason, I felt happy.

The picture was so eye catching, I couldn't look away. It reminded me of myself and the unfair world. I thought that the picture was lonely   Nervously, I hurried after my parents.
