Video transcript

14th May 1998, I’m 4 years old and my brother is 3. It’s a sunny summer day and me and my brother are hiding from the sun under my Barbie umbrella. It’s hot but I’m still wearing my fluffy wellies. With my bunches and blanket I’d lie under my brolly away from the sun for ages. The girl in the picture is wearing a knee length high dress, this makes me remember my orange and pink striped dress I used to wear. My mam and dad are sat on the patio cooking sausages on the barbeque. It smelt nice and the grass was freshly cut. We were outside because I was too hot in the house. The sprinkler was on in the other side of the garden and I’d just dried off from jumping through it. I remember feeling happy and now remembering it makes me feel even happier.
