Video transcript

All of the houses around us are converted from old buildings into houses. My house used to be an old chapel and then converted to a dancehall. My house was built in 1789. The chapel was converted into a dancehall in 1950. Some of the houses used to be old post offices, shops and blacksmiths. The blacksmiths shop was converted into an abattoir in 1950. The local farmer owns the abattoir and keeps the butchering business. The old train station is now our youth club. Now they are building new houses that are where they used to keeps bulls so they called it Bull Field. A lot of the houses are just being modernised. My nana has kept her house the way it was when it was first built. She has no radiators in her house and she still has the old fireplace with the oven next to it.
